About our Social Studies Department
Our Social Studies department plays a major role in students' understanding of our history and the world around us. Our students take courses in the following subjects:
- 9th Grade Global History
- 10th Grade Global History
- 11th Grade United States (U.S.) History
- 12th Grade Participation in Government & Economics
Our Social Studies Departments utilizes two curricular resources:
New Visions for Public Schools Curriculum: New Visions Social Studies Curriculum
Passports to Social Studies: Passport to Social Studies Overview
Participation in Government & Economics: Civics for All Overview
Students at Law & Tech also have the option of earning college credit by taking our Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History course taught by Ms. Marsick. Students in AP U.S. History are expected to take the AP U.S. History Exam in May and can earn up to 3 college credits.
